Finding Arin as my son’s virtual teacher during the pandemic has been such a blessing for my son. Due to circumstances from our move across country and the ongoing pandemic, my 4.5 yr old son was spending his days at home and I delightfully signed him up for Arin’s group sessions for math, language arts and art and also some private tutoring (at my son's request because he simply loved learning from Arin).
Arin is truly a gem. He has such a warm, calm and inviting presence and has the rare ability to instantly connect with children, even through video!
I have, without hesitation, recommended Arin to other families, and it speaks volumes that the children not only continue to participate in his tutoring, but look forward to their time with Arin.
What makes Arin unique is that he has such an expertise with gifted children and he thoroughly understands their tendencies, thought process and learning styes. It is evident in the small moments during a group teaching session where he demonstrates patience and agility and also during his one-on-one tutoring sessions. I had asked Arin to introduce the idea of growth mindset with my son, as he is a perfectionist and tends to lean towards a fixed mindset. After a few sessions with Arin, I noticed that my son was relaxing a bit on tendencies towards perfection. Arin also incorporates mindfulness during his teachings and it helps tremendously as my son feels emotions intensely as other students in his class do.
As a mom and a pediatrician/neonatologist, Arin has truly become not only my son’s teacher, but my resource and guide to how best understand my 4.5 yr old sensitive and bright son. I cannot recommend anyone more and only wish more parents of bright and eager learners will be able to access Arin to help navigate this journey we are on.

Whether she’s doing one or more classes in a row, our daughter is excited to attend and engaged from start to finish. She is learning valuable information the whole time, which is greatly enhanced by Mr. Wiscomb’s sense of humor. We appreciate the attention given to the material without using videos. Mr. Wiscomb also adjusts his lessons to the needs and abilities of each of the kids, making sure all of the kids are able to succeed and progress. In addition to the excellent academic work, Mr. Wiscomb is highly attentive to the emotional needs of the kids and encourages them to express their feelings, big or small, during the classes.
In short, our experience doing online learning with Mr. Wiscomb has been excellent. We tried many online classes during the pandemic and his are the ones with which we stuck. He really is a gifted teacher!

I enrolled my 6-year-old son into Arin’s group class after hearing such rave reviews of him, and it has exceeded my expectations! My son is currently homeschooling with me and I wanted to supplement with some fun language arts and math. It is small enough where he (and each student) can get their individualized attention, but also provides a fun social setting where the kids can get this each other well. Arin does a phenomenal job not just teaching such helpful information, but also nurturing and showing attention to each student and interacting with them in a deeper and personal way. And just as importantly, he instills confidence and a sense of growth mindset to them all by encouraging them to keep trying even through “the hard things” and never give up. “Both my daughters loved Mr. Wiscomb’s classes and are both still active artists. He is such a super positive presence and so creative, always finding something encouraging to say. My daughters loved his classes and did his classes many many times. He does lots of experimentations with different mediums, including watercolour, acrylic, stone carving, bronze casting, pencil, and oil paint (only when they were older). He was very observant of the whole class no matter the activity and always had a positive outlook. He really helped my girls advance and continue their art.
